There will be a wolf management webinar on Oct 15, Tues, 6-730 PST by the Wash F&W for citizens to watch. The meetings were going to be in person, but was switched to webinar because of the heated controversy. Currently Kelly Susewind heads the Washington F&W and he favors killing wolves so cattle can graze on federal lands.

Gov Inslee on September 30, 2019 asked Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife director Kelly Susewind to “make changes in the gray wolf recovery program to further increase reliance on non-lethal methods, and to significantly reduce the need for lethal removal of this species.

I believe we cannot continue using the same management approach on this particular landscape. The status quo of annual lethal removal is simply unacceptable.”

We have no freaking idea all that they do to restore ecosystems and we have to let ecosystems reestablish ancient patterns so the plants and animals have half a fucking chance to survive the climate crisis we caused.

5. I watched the meeting and was disappointed

It seemed most of the comments were from rural people who don't like wolves. I wondered where all the wolf supporters were, the ones crying so loud about cattle grazing on federal lands.

Also they said that the forest service determines use of federal lands for cattle grazing, so why is Gov Inslee writing to the F&W instead of writing to Forest Service.

6. I don't know why there weren't any

supporters of the wolves there but I do know that in Idaho, one of the favorite tactics of the anti wildlife crowd, including those elected, would not inform such individuals and groups of such a meeting until late or after it took place.

If there was online participation included, I can imagine technical difficulties in getting them through online.

Other than that, there should have been some folks there to support the wolves. I think WA has a state grazing program, maybe. If it's federal land then, yes, it would be USFS or BLM who administers the grazing allotments.

Too bad. I missed due to other obligations. It's pretty depressing, after all these years, to see and hear all the same BS being tossed about by a dying industry that has no real business being here on this landscape in the first place. So what if your family has been raping the land for a couple generations, they still are trashing the landscape... it needs to stop because it's cause climate problems.
