Ecosia, the search engine that plants trees, turns 10 today

When I dumped Google and started using it in 2015, they had only planted around 2 million. In February of this year, they reached 50 million trees planted. As of today, they are over 76.5 million. The founder, Christian, has pledged never to allow shares to trade in the company and takes a basic salary. All excess revenue goes into tree planting and some other green initiatives (solar power for their servers, for instance).

like number of trees you helped plant, don't delete your cookies for that site. That's where they store your stats and if you delete it, you go back to zero. It's insignificant but it's a fun statistic.
