Cape Wind gets $200M in financing from Danish pension fund
http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130618/NEWS/130619637A Danish pension fund is kicking in $200 million to help fund Cape Wind, edging the $2.6 billion off-shore wind farm project closer to being fully financed.
In a statement released today, PensionDanmark – a nonprofit labor market pension fund with $24.7 billion in assets – said that it would provide a mezzanine loan for the project.
A mezzanine loan is a hybrid of equity and debt.
“We are delighted to participate in the Cape Wind project,” PensionDanmark CEO Torben Moger Pedersen said in the statement.
