Greenpeace stages more protests against P&G

Environmental group Greenpeace says it staged multiple protests around the world Wednesday against Procter & Gamble's sourcing of palm oil it links to rainforest destruction.

The group published protest photos including a banner draped from P&G facilities in Indonesia. Other protests were held at an industry conference in Manchester, U.K., where P&G was presenting and outside P&G facilities in the Philippines, India and Belgium.

"From India to Belgium to the Philippines, people are demanding that P&G starts taking rainforest destruction seriously," said Joao Talocchi, Greenpeace palm oil campaigner.

The latest demonstrations come three weeks after Greenpeace staged a high-profile protest at P&G's world headquarters in Cincinnati. Activists got into the building and unfurled two 60-foot long banners reading: "Head & Shoulders: Stop Putting Tiger Survival on the Line," and "Head & Shoulders: Wipes out Dandruff & Rainforests....
