Speak out against President Obama’s plan for new offshore drilling

Public comment to the Department of Interior

The rapidly escalating global temperatures are as clear as the growing warnings from our climate scientists: We simply can’t afford any new offshore drilling. The Gulf of Mexico and the Arctic are the 8th and 3rd largest pools of carbon respectively. Continuing to allow new drilling in these areas is a climate catastrophe that is incompatible with President Obama’s climate leadership and his commitment to the Paris climate agreement. It is long past time to take all new offshore drilling off the table.

2. Yeah, but is it really Obama's plan?

Isn't this really the oil industry's longstanding plan, and maybe the Obama Administration's partial caving in to relentless pressure (a euphemism for threats and hostile actions against not only Obama and the Administration but maybe also various groups of us and even maybe sometimes all of us?
