Do you think our practices are less horrific?

I am against all animal slaughter, here, there, everywhere.

Appeals like this always strike me as culturally myopic at best and subtly racist as worst.

So no one can comment on anything going on in the world or else it's racist? Give me a break.

Just because someone calls out the myriad of atrocities going on in Asia ...like their beyond barbaric Fur farms, dog boiling, 'scientific whaling', Tiger penis for ancient medicinal medicines does not mean those people don't have concerns about certain issues in America and it isn't racist.

Many (including me) find the annual harp seal hunt in Canada incredibly barbaric...I guess I hate white people.

Are you really surprised it sounds racist? If so I'll give you a simple guide anything that slanders a whole ethnic group is racist.

See how weird that sounds? Lumping together different cultures is not good advocacy. I know your intentions are good, but changing behavior follows from understanding.

I really hope I missed something. Some meme, something stupid. The responses to this...

But hey, I've suggested the Japanese stop whaling. It's cultural, government ingrained, political. Apparently racist.

Shit, I should shut the fuck up about shark finning then. And Lord above, the USDA.

Nevermind, back in my hole. See you all around.

China has a horrible record for animal abuse. So do a lot of other places, including us.

We are having some good results from just plain old keeping everyone's feet to the fire. There are more and more vegetarians all the time. When people really realize just how awful we treat the animals we eat they quit eating meat. And that's a very good thing.

The biggest nags I've ever met.

I don't think they would taste good boiled, however.

I see reports on that every once in a while. A lot of pets get stolen and sold to restaurants.

I just hate to even think about stuff like that.
