Five Ukrainian Soldiers Killed after National Guard Serviceman Opens Fire

AUkrainian National Guard serviceman opened fire in a room at a machine building factory, killing five servicemen and injuring five others, local media have reported.

Artemiy Ryabchuk, 20, had been guarding the Pivdenmash factory in the city of Dnipro, around 240 miles southeast of the capital Kyiv, when he opened fire with a Kalashnikov assault rifle around 7 p.m. Thursday, Ukraine's internal affairs ministry said.

News outlet Syevodnya.ua reported that he took an AK-47 rifle and cartridges into a weapons room where 22 soldiers were and started shooting before fleeing.

A search for the suspect was launched in the Dnipropetrovsk region where he was later detained, Ukraine's Interior Ministry said.

Your headline had me thinking it was one of our National Guard servicemen. This is not good. So much stress n tension could lead to a terrible outcome. This has got to be resolved..and soon.
