Pooty Poot Caught Between Choosing Expensive Ukraine War or Humiliating Retreat

Vladimir Putin will soon have to decide what to do with the huge number of soldiers he has sent to the border with Ukraine, a former CIA analyst has told Newsweek.

The Russian president "has to be concerned about the cost of keeping Russian troops deployed in the field—not just financially, but in terms of military morale," said Nicholas Dujmovic.

"At some point, probably within three weeks, he'll have to decide to use the troops or end the deployment."

Military analysts say the presence of an estimated 130,000 troops—with some of the units coming from far-flung parts of Russia—presents a logistical and fiscal challenge that becomes trickier the longer they are there, The New York Times reported.

are vulnerable. Maintaining those will be difficult if conflict erupts. NATO has a lot of tools to put Russian soldiers on an island.

If he had the upper hand, Putin wouldn't run to China for support.

I think Putin messed up. It seems like he was testing Biden and the Europeans and didn’t expect the reaction he got. Maybe he isn’t as smart as everyone thinks.

backing down. Biden needs to present Putin with a bigger demand for not wrecking his economy.

to be center of attention for the world. He gets off on this shit. He has a Napoleon Complex. He wants Russia to be seen as having a better economy and a higher population than he actually has. China has 10× the economy and population of Russia. They call the shots more than Putin ever will.

He has a lot of propaganda he can use. He will show that Russia did not act in a belligerent way, but NATO and especially the US did. How the US kept talking about how it was going to destroy Russia. How he has stopped Ukraine from joining NATO. How Russia and China will not allow the US to destabilize and threaten regional security. If anything, Russia and China are now working closer together, at least for now.
