Related: About this forumPutin's next problem: Russian mainstream-media is screaming for endless Holy War against Ukraine.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/russian-state-media-admits-vladimir-putins-worst-case-scenario-in-ukraine-war-is-coming-true?ref=homeRussia cannot sustain this war forever. At some point, Russia needs some sort of peace-treaty that permanently freezes this conflict in place.
Putin is trapped in a problem of his own making.
1. In order to make him look good, the russian government lies about the true costs and true losses of this war.
2. Deceived by this patriotic jingoism (and fed by their self-inflated egos), russian media-personalities are screaming for more and more war, for more and more hatred against the Ukrainians, for more and more dehumanization and brutality.
3. Putin cannot conquer all of Ukraine, which means he needs a peace-treaty with Ukraine that legally gives him what he has conquered so far. Except he cannot negotiate for peace while the russian media and the russian people are screaming for more war.
Who tried to kill Alexander Dugin?
The entire Ukraine-war is premised on Dugin's nationalist philosophy.
If Putin dared to try to end this war in any other way than the total conquest of Ukraine and the total annihilation of NATO, do you think russian nationalist fanatics like Dugin would accept that?
Or would they try to replace Putin with an even more nationalist hardliner?
Putin never wanted this war. He wanted a quick occupation and a coup d'etat in Ukraine.
Except it has now escalated into a full war and Putin doesn't know how to end this war without throwing Russia into political chaos, social unrest and maybe even a coup-attempt against himself.

Some Russian officials are call for treason against Putin. A Russian banker has offered Ukraine 1 billion to convince the UK to lift sanctions against him. Russian troops are on the run in Ukraine, etc.

If you haven't checked him out yet, I suggest watch the following video by Vlad Vexler, an ex-pat Russian philosopher and musician. I find his thoughts on Russia to be quite interesting:
