UN will fly Palestinian flag after strong support for resolution – video

http://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2015/sep/11/palestinian-flag-un-support-resolution-israel-video

The Palestinian flag will fly at United Nations headquarters after the UN general assembly on Thursday overwhelmingly approved the resolution. The Palestinian delegation described it as a step towards UN membership, while the Israeli ambassador said the assembly ‘would vote to declare the Earth is flat if the Palestinians proposed it’

The Israel Lobby stands no chance against that.

Of course, we're to believe these lopsided votes (most coming from brutal fascist regimes) come from decent minded forces of progress.

Perhaps the US wants to see peace, and the one very real way is through accepting the state of Palestine in the same way that they accepted the state of Israel.

The only party standing in the way of this is Israel; which apparently, IMHO, suffers from right wing zealots that have corrupted the very meaning of zionism.

I hope that Israel sees the light before it is too late for them to see anything except for world divestment of the apartheid state.

The dirty secret of course is that the Israelis have the Palestinians exactly where they want them--the last thing they want is a Palestinian state that's not under the strict and total control of the IDF.

....the Middle East is literally falling apart, millions displaced, tens of thousands of refugees seeking asylum.

The UN has no time for any resolutions on the millions displaced, tens of thousands of refugees. And why? Because they can't blame Israel for that one.

Cue a round of applause for the farce that is the UN.

But will Israel do anything at all on the ground to show it backs the two-state solution too?

Ideally, it takes two to tango.

for Palestine, BDS, protesting against settlement building, taking Israel to the ICC, trying to get Israel's permission to build new communities, etc.

Can you show me a single actual act on the ground by Netanyahu's goverment, this one and the last that could be seen as a move towards two states, even indirectly? It's so funny, I can't recall a single one.

In fact, the PA keeps inciting Palestinians in the W.Bank to hate & attack Jews (like at the Temple Mount) as well as insisting on a RoR that would take away Israel's sovereignty.

They're promoting their own self-interests at the expense of Israel.

===============

Netanyahu's government accepted Kerry & Obama's proposals at the last peace talks while the PA was against it all.

A few years ago, Netanyahu's government offered 60% of the W.Bank to the PA....with temporary borders that would change based on future negotiations. Abbas refused.

Netanyahu's government actually works quite hard to help the W.Bank Palestinians economically. Promoting peace via economics...

They offered to end 60% of it in the W.Bank for zero in return & an invite to negotiate at the table for the rest of it.

But you're against that.

Really, what would you do without the Israeli occupation? For all your rants against Zionists who seemingly want the occupation to last forever, it turns out you're the one who'd rather keep the status quo.

As I stated earlier. If this is Israeli style zionism then it is corrupt to the bone...IMHO.

It appears that the world has grown tired of that lack-o-substance style, shira, since the UN will fly the Palestinian flag, and our POTUS has back-handed Netanbooboo with the just Iran-Peace deal.

You know that deal. It's the one that Booboo wanted to scuttle for the threat of war.

Really, what would you do without the Israeli occupation? For all your rants against Zionists who seemingly want the occupation to last forever, it turns out you're the one who'd rather keep the status quo.

It's Israeli colonization, the thing that you continually pretend isn't there, that needs to end. It's this form of corrupted zionism that will eventually cause Israel great humiliation in the future.

The occupation will end, and Israel won't like the outcome. Corrupt regimes never cede power willingly, and they have to be persuaded to do it economically.

BDS.
