Nashville's Jewish Congregations Stand in Solidarity with Israel After Weeks Of Terror Attacks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - All five local congregations pledged to take the Sabbath to say special prayers for peace in the Jewish homeland and discuss the issues in the Middle East as part of a city wide movement.

Tensions have continued to grow in Israel after the latest so-called "days of rage" against Israelis.

In the past month, eight Israelis and 33 Palestinians have been killed in the clashes and lone wolf attacks.

Closer to home, Nashville's Jewish population has banded together.

“We just felt it was time to show our solidarity with Israel,” said Jewish Federation Executive Director Mark Freedman.

Freedman said all five local congregations pledged to take the Sabbath to say special prayers for peace in the Jewish homeland and discuss the issues in the Middle East. It was a city wide movement.
