Israeli Apartheid Week Marked at BZU

PNN/Ramallah

Inspired by the ongoing resistance across Palestine, Israeli Apartheid Week was marked in Birzeit University, in the occupied West Bank, in the context of global activities and events taking place in about 150 universities and cities around the world.

Apartheid Week aims to raise awareness about Israel’s ongoing settler-colonial project and apartheid policies over the Palestinian people. Panels, film screenings, and creative actions marked the two- days event organized by Right2Education Campaign.

1. Clarifies that the BDS movement is about boycotting Israel itself, not just the settlements

I know some people seem to be confused about that.

"Boycott of Israeli products" is listed by the BDS representative as the first main action to be taken as part of the movement.

No distinction made between settlement products and those that came from Israel proper.

Not just a boycott of products made in settlements.

That's the only point I was making.

uses it military to guard the settlements and settlers - as time goes on it becomes more difficult to see them as 2 separate entities - but from another PoV that was sort of the point all along IMO

Some folks, though, seem to not understand the BDS movement and it's position regarding a total boycott of all Israeli products, not just ones made in settlements.

Which IMHO doesn't make it a positive agent of change toward a peaceful negotiated solution
