Chicago Police Investigates Possible Hate Crime

Leaflets threatening the Jewish community because of Israel’s Gaza operation were found on parked cars in a Chicago neighborhood.

The leaflets found Saturday on six cars in the Pulaski Park neighborhood, in the northwestern part of the city, threatened violence if Israel did not pull out of Gaza and end its operation in the coastal strip that began July 8, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Chicago Police opened an investigation and notified the department’s hate crimes unit, according to the newspaper.

If they'd been put out on more than an handful of cars, you'd have seen much greater condemnation. But nobody's saying the pamphlets are ok and you know it.

5. I don't know anything

There's been so many antiSemitic incidents lately from attacking Rabis to storming synagogues etc
Even here on DU these have been "explained" or excused or we have even been told they understandable or it's what's expected and some of it even sounded a lot like support.

It's childish of you to demand that we keep proving it.

If you're on the Left, you oppose ALL forms of bigotry.

It's just that opposition to what the Israeli government does to Palestinians ISN'T bigotry...and Israel as a country is non synonymous with "the Jews".

And if you really want to make Israel a secure country living at peace, you should be working for the defeat of the Netanyahu government...the Israeli Right is opposed to peace, because without a perpetual conflict with the Palestinians and without the myth of the "existential crisis", the Israeli Right would have no support and no reason to exist.

BTW, as an LGBTQ person, you should know...once you are no longer useful to Netanyahu and Co. for propaganda purposes, they will abandon you and appease their even crazier coalition partners by passing Iranian/Ugandan-style anti-gay legislation. You are living on sufferance with that crowd.

8. It would only be paternalism if I looked down on you. I don't.

And I don't hold any power over you. We just disagree.

And history shows that it's people on the Right who are the big enemies of LGBTQ people and Jewish people(and anyone else in some sort of minority status). The democratic Left(I'm not talking about Stalinists, since Stalinism is extinct) have been the champions of all those who have to fight for their say and their place at the table...Likudniks never voluntarily helped gays(they backed gay-rights legislation when someone pointed out that that would be useful in propaganda terms)and gentile "pro-Israel" conservatives aren't allies of gays OR Jews...most of them are "pro-Israel" just because they want to keep their countries as Judenrein as possible. That's what motivated Balfour(and most likely motivated Truman as well).

The best bet is to be part of the general movement for social and economic justice for all-NOT to try and get "a better deal" by being tokens for the bigoted, exploitative and militarist/colonialist Right. You end hatred by creating a just world...nothing else works.

That's all I'm saying. And history bears me out on this.

16. When peace comes to Gaza you should go with your boyfriend to Palestine or Gaza

And fight for gay rights and advocate for them to stop killing gays.

Zero gay rights can only be improved on.

And if you make it out alive you guys can stop in Tel Aviv on the way home and frequent many many gay establishments and even kiss in the straight establishments without the fear of death you will feel in a Gaza establishment if you did the same thing.

Here in DU , there's enough non Jews posting exactly what us Jews think , post after post of Jews who have resigned from the Jewish people or Jews who have walked out of shuls or Jews who have revolted against Israel etc , I leave it to these guys to speak for all Jews not I .
