Senator Chuck Schumer expressed his unequivocal support for the Israeli governments stance regarding a possible cease-fire, following President Obamas call for an immediate and unconditional cease-fire.
We cannot have any ceasefire until Israel destroys Hamas weapons, tunnels and weapons, Schumer roared. No cease-fire as long as Hamas weaponry is gone! Its plain ad simple.
Rookie Brooklyn Congressman Hakeem Jeffries wowed the crowd by declaring, Israel has always prevailed and Israel will prevail this time too. Israel today, Israel tomorrow and Israel forever.

(45,850 posts)I'm trying to imagine what would happen if such comments had been made by any other politician or US figure that were not favoring Israel, actually I do not have to as comments were made about a week or so earlier that while not as detailed were by our M$M deemed far far worse-in fact our M$M did not even notice this

(12,606 posts)or does he make excuses and justify it citing the Torah?
I'm not sure that Bush was even so dumb as to cite the bible when he was killing Iraqis, but I might be in error there.

(45,850 posts)it should be noted that the comments I posted were published 6/11/2010 the M$M did not blink nor pay attention to what he said perhaps because they were focused on comments made by someone else from earlier in that week, it was the week we learned that when someone of Arab ethnicity even an American says Palestine they really mean Israel or something, just to compare how the media treats things

(26,060 posts)Sens. Ted Cruz and Kirsten Gillibrand united on Monday to push a resolution condemning Hamas in its war against Israel, building on their burgeoning bipartisan alliance.
The resolution from the Texas Republican and New York Democrat strongly criticizes Hamas for using innocent civilians as human shields, tags Hamas and other terrorist groups with the blame for thousands of rocket attacks on Israel launched from Gaza and demands that Palestine Liberation Organization chairman Mahmoud Abbas condemn Hamass tactics.
This makes for some very strange bedfellows. Gillibrand has been an awesome senator for New York. A very reliable liberal.
