We met socially a few times thru a mutual gay friend. And our teenage kids know each other. So I figured she knew.
Wrong.
She sends me an email saying she was going to be brave and ask me "out on a date."
I'm thinking she's kidding but wants to hang so I say... "That kind of bravery cannot go unrecognized... or unrewarded. I accept. "
We did an outdoor dance-fest type thingie a week or so ago in lower Manhattan. My son in tow. ( Her's not.)
Then went to dinner where the proverbial beans were spilled... I guess by me. Probably talking politics. (She's a liberal DEM type, of course.)
I thought nothing of it at the time. But now I find myself chuckling about it. I don't think she was exactly mortified... though its hard to tell for sure. ( Women. Go figure!)
This sort of thing hasn't happened to me for a long., long, long, long, looooonnnng, time.
Anyway... she's neat. Maybe she has a brother? I forgot to ask.
