Comic Eddie Griffin Slings Lesbian Slur, Receives Faceful of Wine

Comedian Eddie Griffin says his use of the word "dyke," directed at an audience member during one of his shows last week, was "slang, and not deragotory."

While on stage at Tommy T's Comedy House in Pleasanton, Calif., Griffin riled up a woman sitting in the front row, according to The Huffington Post. We don't know what he said exactly, but his rant about the woman's perceived sexual orientation prompted her to toss a glass of wine or champagne at him.

Griffin countered by dumping a glass of water on the woman and throwing the empty plastic bottle at her.

when alleged comedians have to resort to ugly gender based insults in order to get a laugh.
Maybe they should consider another line of work since they obviously don't have it to make it in comedy.

Pleasanton club patron wants apology for comedian Eddie Griffin's lesbian remarks

PLEASANTON -- A San Jose CEO who claims she was assaulted by comedian Eddie Griffin because she is a lesbian, says she will file suit against the comedian and the club if she doesn't get apologies.

In an interview Tuesday, Fiona Walshe, 39, said she and her partner, Leslie Champlin, were sitting near the front of the stage at Tommy T's Comedy Club in Pleasanton on July 13 when Griffin stepped out, telling the audience he was already drunk and had been drinking for nearly a week.

Walshe said Griffin noticed she was not laughing and singled her out, calling her "rigid" and taunting her by saying she looked like a "librarian." (snip)

Walshe said Griffin escalated his teasing, shouting to the entire audience about her sexuality and volunteered to have sex with the women to "show them a good time" before proceeding to pump and grind his hips in Walshe's face.

And not surprisingly, his agent is brushing it off as just part of his job as a comic.

He's never done anything of note to make him stand out.
