"Nohomo " is a fairly new one on me. Had to look it up, actually.

From urbandictionary.com :

>>>nohomo 100 up, 50 down
An Adjective: A phrase typically used in conjunction with a salutation, used in a setting where a group of at least two men greet at least two other men in a potentially effeminate manner, to articulate that the interaction contains, nor can there be derived from any homosexual context or meaning.
Stan and Alex hugged their friends Bill and Paul when they met at La Guardia Internation Airport, and Stan quickly stated "nohomo" as they embraced.

"Nohomo!" One of the group cried, as all of them shed tears for their fallen brother, who caused a 179 car pileup on the I-75 after seventeen tequilla shooters and ten beers.>>>>>

OK. Errrhhhmmmm. Yeah. Well.

I'm thinking straight people spend entirely too much time worrying about "appearing" to be gay.
What a mess... socio-psychologically speaking. It's gonna be a looooong time before we as a culture can sort some of these things out.

Other observations from a cursory observation of the tweets:

"So gay" seems to be essentially a female phenomenon.

"Faggot" seems to be the overwhelming epithet of choice of among males.

Tweet-ism, --- homophobic content aside--- as a cultural phenomenon ,doesn't fill one with optimism for the future. It appears to engender callousness, simplistic thinking and garden variety stupidity.

Yuck.

Like what happened on 13 AUG 2012 to get that sharp spike in the use of the word "dyke"?

Really interesting data though.
