Now that that's settled, I hope straight people don't assume that we all WANT to get married.

Or that other LGBTs assume that, for that matter.

Or, worse ( much , much much worse) : that we all OUGHT to get married.

Next stop on the "pursuit of happiness" train : the freedom NOT to get married.

All aboard.

In fact, we're going to start trying to arrange blind dates for you with every gay stranger we meet.

But when not if we re blessed with being able to marry everywhere here, it will be nice to know that I can if I ever choose to.

not everyone is suited to it, let alone child-rearing!

I cherish my decades of fancy-free slut-tery.

But I did long to get married for a while, and it would have been very practical to have been married while I cared for two of my exes before they died--one of whom rekindled the relationship in earnest.

And have kids too. Everyone has different goals in life and should be allowed to follow them. That's why we're all so happy about the DOMA and Prop 8 rulings. We all get to have all the freedoms of straight people. One by one the dominoes fall into place!
