Oprah Winfrey announces Michael Sam TV documentary
Sam joined the St Louis Rams on Saturday in the seventh round of the draft, making history as the first openly gay NFL player.
Oprah announced today that cameras will follow Sam as he embarks on his journey with the team, for an untitled TV documentary on her OWN network.
She said: “We are honored that Michael is trusting us with his private journey in this moment that has not only made history but will shape it forever”
I am proud of the focus on authentic storytelling in our new documentary series format.
