Advocates in Asheville mobilize to battle same-sex marriage ban

ASHEVILLE — Sunday was a day of motion for people fighting a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

Liz MacNeil parked her 40-year-old Sears & Roebuck beach cruiser “Eleanor” outside the new local office for the Coalition to Protect All North Carolina Families on Market Street and welcomed visitors.

“Our motto is victory or death,” said the Asheville native, who drove three days from California to help with the fight.

Meanwhile, Jen Jones, communications director for advocacy group Equality NC, was about to start her own journey from downtown all the way to Wilmington in the Race to the Ballot.

Although her motto is a bit extreme, I'll grant you that.

At first read the article is a bit sketchy and only mentions Liz at the beginning and end not really stating clearly where she stands. Upon second read I see the error of my ways, Sorry Liz, I deleted the post.
