The horrific messages, which referred to 12-year-old Maddie as it, this thing, half baked maggot and the transgender, were posted on a Facebook group for parents of students in Achille, Oklahoma.
Earlier this year, an Indiana teacher who refused to use trans pupils chosen names resigned because his religious beliefs conflicted with his schools policy.
The two schools in Achille will be closed until Wednesday (August 15) after Maddie who usually goes to the staff bathroom used a girls toilet once, on the first day of seventh grade.

Being a bigot is one thing but physically threatening a CHILD is a whole new low for these evil people!!!

(70,092 posts).........Achille ISD Superintendent Rick Beene told Them: We are putting in extra measures to help safeguard our students.
We appreciate all the concern for our Achille students. Our school is shut down until Wednesday for safety precautions.
While I will not go into specifics, we have increased security.
Beene said that the majority of people posting on the parents group dont actually live in the school district, adding that the group itself was not officially connected to either of the local schools.
Achille Public Schools and administration believe everyone should receive a safe and free education, he said.

We have a very talented staff that cares about each and every student. We remain one of the few small Oklahoma schools to have a resource officer and have had for the last several years.............................

(15,805 posts)What a miserable, ugly town that must be if it is filled with such terrible hate and lawlessness. Hatred is taught, so who is teaching those ignorant people to threaten a child with violence in the name of the demons they worship? The craven priests? Is this the message of their church, or are they trying to instill this belief in their followers like it's their own personal vendetta against anyone who is different. The cowards have mobbed together in a show of power, but they are all weak bullies who threaten the meek and vulnerable who can't fight back.

(2,809 posts)About the entire Mars retrograde cycle in combination with several other planets retrograde recently:
"Danger, Will Robinson, Sheilds up, Phasers on Stun. Don't fire unless commanded."
Some folks pooh-poo'd me about this a few weeks ago, recently came at me wide-eyed.
One person passed away in an nearby abode at the beginning.
At least a half dozen couples right here in our neighborhood sporadically had public full vies knock-down drag-outs. This was before, even:
There has been California's biggest fire ever right here. We now live in the land of Scorch.
The air has been unbreathable outdoors even with a mask ever since, each day before the afternoon wind blows it back east.
One other neighbor here had to be hospitalized recently, was found sitting and babbling senselessly. He was found to be septic and is okay now.
More recently a brutal multiple murder/suicide took place nearby. I cannot further comment.
One person nearby with a drug problem won't be with us much longer. The symptoms are too severe now.
And I'm getting more second hand reports of other dramatic events, accidents and generalized crazy shit nearby from neighbors.
... And that's not even mentioning the second level wackjobbery coming from the nooze every day.

(4,514 posts)Obviously the situation itself and the hell this little girl and her family are going through. Then there are the public comments posted across every news channels FB feed and newspaper in OK. On one of Tulsa's news channels FB page today there were over 300 comments, I can count on one hand the ones that support the child. You can't even image how vile the others were. The folks making these comments do so seemingly without fear of consequences. They wear their hate like a badge of honor.
Between this story and the story of the man beaten to death in New Orleans for a stolen wallet and the man who beat the other to death for going in the ladies room....I can't look my fellow okies in the eyes.

(100,042 posts)Just last week there was that trans candidate from New Hampshire who won the primaries. The hate that was coming out on Twitter and Facebook was unbelievable.
Of course you saw the usual Austin Powers and Ace Ventura memes being posted, that was hateful enough
But then the usual bullshit kept getting worse and worse. It's beyond disgusting.

(53,921 posts)ACHILLE, Okla. (KXII) -- A spokesperson from Frontier Airlines confirms one of its employees has now been suspended from work as a pilot pending investigation for his role in the violent threats made toward Maddie, a seventh grade transgender girl on Facebook posts.
The company says 58-year-old Kevin Bickerstaff was put on indefinite suspension on Monday after the company learned of the situation late Sunday afternoon.
Facebook posts show an account by the same name encouraged other kids at Achille schools to beat Maddie in the bathroom so she would not come back to school.
