Lindsey, I'll donate $20 to you if you tell us what dirt on you that Trump told you he has that made you completely reverse course on hating/now loving him.

It's pretty easy to guess what it said, though. And if I'm not mistaken, I've seen at least 2 other posts that said basically the same thing since he announced his ridiculous abortion ban bill.

I don't remember if I clicked on it or not, from my browser's history list I apparently didn't, I was just doing a quick catch up on the latest news and didn't have time to get really pissed off because I had other stuff I needed to get done. So I apparently just saw the title on the Latest Threads page. But I was seething all damn day about it.

Given just the title, I took it as an attack on asexual men and asexual people in general. Yes, they exist and they have as much right to their orientation as anybody else does. (I'm not one but I'm a minority in a number of other ways, so I get pissed off about any kind of attacks on people who are in the minority in some way or another who aren't harming anybody or doing anything wrong).

It could have been homophobic too, like I say, I apparently didn't read the post, just the title. I'm well aware of the widespread notion that he is a closet gay. If it was homophobic, that is just as wrong to ridicule about.

I was very appreciative having just read the thread (with the OP removed) at how some really let them know, and persistently, what they thought about it. Actually while I'm typing this just now, I recognize one of the names, thank you!

I'm also delighted about the post being removed.

Edited to add: I found the post in Google's cache. It could be either an attack on asexuality or homosexuality, but more likely the latter given that it is what it seems he is most often assumed to be.

who appeared on The 11th Hour on MSNBC.
There is a story about the quote in the NY post. I won't provide a link.
The level of discourse on this site often bothers me but this would have been an egregious example.

it's really pretty disappointing. Glad to see this one removed. But the level of discourse ... An awful lot of, "Well he's a nasty human being (with ugly politics) - so why shouldn't I lob any sort of homophobic crap I feel like?"

Point being - why do you 'feel like' - lobbing homophobic slurs (at anyone)?

Same hold true for misogynistic crap hurled at Sinema or MTG - or racist filth toward Clarence Thomas?

I didn't alert on it, but another astute DUer must have. It's shameful that Democrats think this type of mocking behavior is ok. There's plenty of things to mock about him. He's a trump ass kisser. Trump may have kompromat on him. His hair is ridiculous. He picks his nose. Anything but mocking his sexuality or asexuality.

They don't seem to get it. It's this type of mocking that hurts LGBTQ and keeps them in the closet as self hating people. If this is what is going on with Lindsay Graham, and I don't know that it is, we should feel sympathy/empathy for him not being able to accept himself.

Thank you jury or mods who shut it down.

Although I don't think he's gay or asexual. If either were the case, he wouldn't have done that 180 so fast after meeting with Dotard. Nobody really cares about asexuality. A "love the lawd above all else" would easily get people to back off about that. These days, being gay wouldn't be as devastating to his career, even in South Carolina. Or his party.

Graham is either into something much--much--worse than being gay or asexual, or he's done something super-illegal.

but that someone (the former guy?) has some information that graham desperately needs to keep secret. whatever this secret is (and it may not even be sexual. republicans, after all, are exempt from all moral codes and common decency expected of democrats and other lesser persons) it is causing graham to cause the nation a great deal of discomfort that could be easily alleviated if he just came clean and accepted whatever "dire" consequences he thinks might occur.

Punching up never includes homophobia, especially at an assumed closet person. It’s not appropriate on DU.

To quote EarlG:

118. HA HA LINDSEY GRAHAM IS GAY, GET IT??
Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable because he's attacking women's sex lives, so his is fair game.

WRONG.

Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable because we can't beat Republicans unless we sink to their level.

WRONG.

Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable because he's a hypocrite.

WRONG.

Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable if they're true.

WRONG.

Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable because he's powerful so it's punching up.

WRONG.

Making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is acceptable because the woman who started it is gay.

WRONG.

Locking, with disgust and disappointment at the people in this thread who still think making homophobic jokes about Lindsey Graham is okay on DU.

... "homo" (etc) is an insult.

Also, the concept of winning people over seems to be lost.
I know plenty of people in my personal life who lost their initial anti-gay prejudices.
