Roe then, Roe now.

30+ years ago, my friend found herself pregnant in the security of marriage. Her husband wanted her to have an abortion. Her father begged her not to "kill my grandchild." She didn't know what she personally wanted to do. She asked me the Solomonic question of what should she do. I borrowed from another friend and told her to tell both her husband and her father that it may be his marriage/his grandchild, but it was *her* body, and thus her choice. She decided to have the baby on her own terms. It cost her the marriage. But it was still her choice and a choice she could live with. If she had decided for an abortion, it would still have been her choice and a choice she could live with.

30+ years of eroding Roe v. Wade incrementally through regulations and statutes has weakened the right to choose in many states. Fortunately not in NJ, but Mississippi is about to lose its last clinic. Enough. It's time to strengthen a woman's right to choose whether to be a mother and allow her the right to have ready access to birth control to avoid having to decide the former choice.
