IMPORTANT info, my 1 yearold grandson just diagnosed with staph infection, EDIT

Last edited Sat Jan 3, 2015, 12:38 PM - Edit history (1)

at the site of his chicken pox vaccination.

Daughter noticed redness and a 'welt' at the site yesterday. Vaccination occurred 2 weeks ago. I haven't learned about treatment plan yet, but thought folks should know. Daughter first thought it might be lyme as they live in/near woods, but docs confirmed the staph today.

EDIT> Baby being treated with cephalexin for 10 days. and of course has diarrhea now, 1 day after treatment began.

Vaccines are a great idea and have saved many lives. The makers need to clean them up though. Dont call me Shirley Jan 2015 #5

He ate much of my daughter's dinner last night! Daughter, on the other, hand was pretty upset, having learned of the staph possibility. (She does over-react to stuff.)

Same daughter, incidentally, was traumatized by her mmr vaccine (29/30 years ago), uncontrollable crying, so her doc agreed to not give her any booster shots. Hence I largely keep out of the 'vaccer' posts. Obviously innoculations can cause issues just because of what they DO: puncture us! From quick reading I've done, there's always staph germs on our skin, so I guess they were mad about being shot at, and reacted.

Thanks for your concern, NOT Shirley.
