My generic drug went from 10.00 to 54.00 for a 90 day supply.

Sticker shock when I picked up the refill today.
Local ( and fairly trustworthy) pharmacy tells me of the 3 generic brands of this drug, ALL have increased the price.
We commiserated over the fact that there is no functioning watch dog organization to look into possible collusion.

The only good news is that the pharmacist found that Wal-Mart is still selling for the 10.00 price and she was willing to match this and give me credit for this
90 day cycle.
The bad news is that this is the only drug I can use for what I need it for.

and still get enough customers to create the largest profit and then charge that amount.

In the RX world this might mean killing some people, many people, but that is the good ole American way.

Maybe time we change that.

Gonna call my doc and see If I can get a script for 180 supply, which should cost 20.00 at Walmart, and 100.00 something at local pharmacy.
Hate to give biz to Wal mart but I do not have much latitude in the budget.

I use pain patches that at one time cost over $200.00 - a few years ago. Then down to $100.00 last year. This year they have dropped 3 times and are now under $50.00. Same name brand. I don't know why but do not question it. My generics have dropped as well. What was &20.00 is now down to $6.00 & $8.00.

I'm really sorry yours have gone up.

and if it is not, ask if there is a generic available and then demand your doc give you that script.

That should the be the first conversation any time one gets a prescription.....Is it generic? Can it be?
