Link? I'll just google if you don't have one.

My Mom used to get cold sores once in a while; I believe they're a form of herpes. And now, she's in her 4th or 5th year of Alzheimer's.

It kinda grabbed me. Aside from my Mom, the very idea of getting something so horrible just from kissing somebody...it's just an abomination.

I googled it and found articles dating back as far as 2 years ago. I totally missed this and I'm so glad you posted. All the best.

and reduce outbreaks.
and that another amino acid could encourage outbreaks.

L-arginine is an amino acid found in foods, esp. in nuts.
It's opposite twin is L-Lysine.

L-Lysine works to prevent/reduce cold sores for me, esp. if I get greedy eating nuts, peanut butter, etc.
