The best idea is not to run into anything. If you do, you'd better be wearing a helmet unless you like the idea of being a veg kept alive by machines.

(149 posts)I think the point was to show the amount of movement that would occur with a blow hard enough to cause a concussion. He didn't seem to be using enough force for a real concussion. Just a guess.

However, the bouncing around inside the skull does occur and that's not great for axons and dendrites and why after a concussion, any activity that risks another should be avoided for six months or so, give the brain a chance to reestablish those connections.
