I was getting really concerned about EVER recovering from bronchitis. I'm glad I am getting better and hope to be off those two drugs soon!

7. A few years ago I got a terrible case of bronchitis

that lasted from early February into late April, with a relentless cough that nothing seemed to control. I just couldn't get rid of it; nothing seemed to help, and to make matters worse I got laryngitis along with it and could barely speak at all. At one point I got so short of breath I went to urgent care and they did one of those 02 checks they clip to your finger, and they discovered I was low on O2 because me lungs were so gummed up. I was prescribed an inhaler (didn't help), antibiotics (didn't help; it was viral); and I tried all sorts of OTC stuff (Mucinex, Nyquil, Sudafed), which didn't help either. I had some Vicodin that was left over from some dental work and I finally resorted to that just to get some sleep. After a few weeks I went to an ENT specialist and he said I'd just have to let it run its course, which it finally did, but it was a miserable couple of months. I totally feel your pain! Hope you get better soon.

My lung test was not good so the doc ordered up the extra meds and the inhaler. I'm thinking that this thing just has to run its course. The antibiotics are necessary, of course, and I'm glad I have them.

I was getting really depressed and thought there was no hope. And I was very concerned that I wouldn't make it, given my advanced age. Just dragging myself out of the bed was a real effort. But I forced myself. Made coffee and breakfast and watched Morning Joe.

Tomorrow I am venturing out to my nail salon. My nails are dry and brittle. They look like hell with all the chipped polish from the last manicure. I love the nail salon. I feel so good after I have a manicure. Need a pedicure too but that has to wait. I can't spend THAT long at the salon since it would drive me crazy...

and makes life miserable in the meantime. I had that same feeling for awhile, like if this thing didn't actually kill me I'd have to live with it for years. I also forced myself to do things even though I couldn't talk (or sing, which was the worst. My range, when I could make any sound at all, was limited to low baritone, f below middle c to low b flat, and I'm a soprano). Once it finally started to improve noticeably it actually cleared up pretty fast. Hang in there.

It's depressing to be deprived of your passion for singing. I'm sorry you had to go through it but glad you are OK.

I'm hoping for a really better day tomorrow but not pushing it too much. I only have one errand tomorrow, mailing a late xmas present to a good friend who loves art as I do. So I got him a calendar from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, featuring art work from NYC artist. I know he loves NYC...

And that cough from bronchitis will linger for weeks, even months, but it does go away eventually.

When you feel like crap in the first place and add the annoyance of the meds giving you even MORE bad stuff, it's a torture....

It is really bad and it caused me to have to get my only root canal This is common I found out. I tried ALL of the dry mouth stuff and none worked including the ones posted above. If your situation is bad like mine try getting these Dry Mouth Discs at CVS . They have CVS and a more expressive kind but both are the same ingredient and disc-form.
You want XYLITOL as the main ingredient. You can suck on one. I break them up into little pieces and put them up in between my gums and lips.

She learned to swallow pills about 25 years ago, and that was the factor that caused her to change.

I am a caregiver to my disabled husband and I kinda thought that was my impetus, but perhaps the drug has helped me along. All to the good, I guess.
