I am so much better today. My nasty intestinal problem has now changed to normal functioning.

The question is: do I still call my gastroenterologist tomorrow for an appointment? He was on vacation when I was experiencing the worst of it. Now I am even feeling stronger, having felt weak as a kitten for the duration of the worst part.

Missing Christmas was difficult but necessary and my daughter understood when I told her of the dire circumstances. I will call her and tell her of my recovery and she'll be relieved.

Happy 2019 to all!

Ignoring it could cause problems. I say this from experience with other health problems I have had.

Some infections recede but don't actually go away. You might need a round of some anti-bio to get rid of it.

Glad you're feeling better!

I can lay out the whole story of when this started and he might want me to have follow up meds.

Perhaps it was just a bad stomach virus. It could be irritable bowel syndrome or irritable bowel disease which can wax and wane.

Best to get it checked out for peace of mind as well.

Good luck.
