Lillyhammer series - anyone else see it?- hilarious!
Steven Van Zandt with an otherwise totally Norwegian cast. He has basically taken his character from the Sopranos and is now in a witness protection program in Lillehammer, Norway.
After he testifies against a Mafia boss, ex-gangster Frank Tagliano enters the witness protection program and asks to be sent to Norway. Despite the peaceful surroundings, it's not long before Frank strays from the straight and narrow.

(20,886 posts)The consensus was, that although there was some funny stuff, it never quite came together. I watched the entire series waiting for a punchline that never came.

(48,217 posts)Aside from other considerations, I'm going to enjoy the Norwegian language practice. I can sort of read it, but my listening comprehension skills aren't very good, and I'm sure this will help.

(84,711 posts)and...well...I think it's quirky and fun in some episodes ...but goes off the rails for me in others.
It veers off plot or continuity when it get's really kinky..(which it often does as it goes on) and then it just becomes weird to me. But many love Kinky and the Kinkier the better...so "to each their own." It's very funny in many episodes, though.
I think I'd give it a C+...because I like Van Zandt and loved that Neflix produced this independently which I'm hoping is the way to go to get past BIG MEDIA Ownership....but, it just kind of got OTT for me. I still have it in my Neflix que ...and go back from time to time to try to catch an episode, though.
