Trouble with Netflix
Anyone having trouble getting Netflix to load? It won't work on my iPhone or my computer. Not sure if the problem is on my end or with Netflix.

(1,502 posts)Normally, bad weather on a Friday night is a good excuse to stay home and watch a movie, but not this week. Friday night's quick-moving thunderstorms hit several states from Indiana to Maryland, but the storm's impact was felt around the Web.
The storm, which packed winds of up to 90 mph, knocked out power to millions of homes -- and to some of Amazon's Cloud services in Northern Virginia. That took Netflix offline. Web users who went hunting for other distractions found even more frustration, as Pinterest.com was also knocked offline, and the Instagram photo-sharing service wasn't working either.
Netflix users took to Twitter to air their disbelief at the service outage.
"Netflix isn't working on possibly the most emotional night of my life. It's official ... this is NOT real life," wrote one Twitter user.
"Everything good is down," complained another.
Neither Netflix nor Amazon can be blamed for Mother Nature's ferocious attack. The storm, which swept through Virginia and Maryland during a harrowing two-hour stretch, uprooted trees across the region, closed roads and damaged homes, and is currently blamed for at least one death.

(4,810 posts)"Electrical storms blasting the east coast last night took pulled the plug on some of Amazon's servers in Northern Virginia, leading to issues with what Amazon refers to as its Elastic Compute Cloud, Relational Database Service, and Elastic Beanstalk.
And, for those beans connected to the stalk Instagram, Pinterest, and Netflix, to name three of the larger Web companies affected their services went kaput as well.
"Due to severe electrical storms, our host had a power outage, no data is lost we've been working through the night to restore service," reported Instagram on its official twitter feed around 9 a.m. PT.
According to Forbes' Anthony Wing Kosner, Amazon initially reported issues with its services around 8:21 PT last night. Netflix was able to restore its services approximately two hours later or so, but that hasn't stopped some from taking to the airwaves to complain or snark about the downtime. "
