4. I went to Japan this year. I just adore everything about it. And their candy is so great including

the bean paste candy! They make beautifully decorated candy out of rice flower.

5. I really appreciated the performances

Most of the Japanese offerings on Netflix feature a style of overacting that does not resonate with me. "Sweet Bean" was acted very honestly and the performances were intimate and natural. If more Japanese dramas were done in this style, I would be watching a lot more of them.
