Absolutely horrible and wonderful at the same time.

According to the youtube comments, Streep sang live! She did an amazing job of singing badly!!

There is a French version of this story, on Netflix, called Marguerite. I have not seen the Streep version but this one was very good. Not played for laughs, in fact kind of bittersweet. It does have subtitles so if you don't like them this isn't for you.

Obviously, not all elements of the movie are true, but the movie really captures the story of her life, imo.
