After I watched all the available Game of Thrones DVDs on Netflix, I had to temporarily add HBO NOW on Amazon so I could keep up to date (my guilty addiction), but a very cheap indoor T.V. antenna gets me all the local stations, covering the major networks, and I can't think of a single thing I'd like to watch that I can't find on Netflix or Amazon. (I don't have HULU).

and internet streaming for everything else...Netflix, no Hulu or Amazon, but I make up for those by watching free films and documentaries and music events on youtube, PBS and the BBC (UK) and CBC (Canada) and Iview and SBS (Australia) using a paid smart DNS service ($5.00 a month)...plenty to watch as I love music , docs and old and foreign films...recently I've been listening to more audio only stuff from NPR and BBC, lots of streaming shows and podcasts you can download and take with you for free...works for me....my housemates do have a sub to DirecTVNow but I rarely watch it....

$140 for DirectTV was just ridiculous.

Bought 4 Fire Sticks for my TVs and we have Playstation Vue now. No problems. Love the Stick. I also have Hulu, Netflix and Prime.

We will likely do a month of HBO after we get back from vacation to watch this season of GoT.

We have a Tivo, an outdoor antenna for all the local channels with excellent digital reception, plus Netflix. The Blu-Ray player also plays YouTube videos if we want them on the big screen.

With the Tivo we paid one fee upfront for a lifetime (of the player) subscription, and haven't had to pay a penny since. This set up paid for itself in about five months, considering what we were paying for cable. And the picture quality is better!

(yes we still pay monthly for Netflix)
