Happy Birthday to me - got my own smart TV!

This is a small one, just 32", but it's for my sewing room (we just had the one in the living room). It's a Vizio and it has dedicated Netflix and Amazon buttons.
Now pardon me while I go delete everything that isn't in hi-def!
Exciting, because I like to watch while I sew or do other stuff, and not always "make" my husband watch what I want to see.

Just recently my vision has gotten a bit foggy (it may be due to a new medication, so I'm moving up my next eye exam). So having the larger TV - I was using one that was 15 years old - AND with hi-def really helps. Tonight I'll be able to see Rachel perfeckly!

I have all my sewing stuff, and a bookcase half filled with sewing books & mags; the rest is taken up with cartons of patterns and supplies. A closet crammed with fabric. The most recent purchase was a Martha Stewart cutting table, which is great - it has cubbies that hold a lot of stuff. My retreat.

I mostly make clothes and accessories like bags for myself, sometimes for my daughters (who are grown and faraway) and my husband. I also make quilts every so often, and I also do pillows and curtains. Right now I'm doing PJ pants for Him, one of the daughters, and me.
I have a mother who sewed beautifully and she encouraged me to make a dress for my Barbie. That got me hooked.

Have you ever entered some items, especially the guilts, in your state fair?

I could never get the hang of sewing.... don't have good fine motor skills...
reading and writing were more my thing. But I admire people who are talented with handicrafts.

My cable bill was becoming outrageous for how much tv I was watching. Ironically, now I find myself watching more than I did when I had 300 worthless channels. I got got one similar, Vizio, has dedicated Netflix, Amazon and Umo? Whatever that is. I'm really glad I spent the 20 bucks extra and got the smart TV instead of the non-smart one for less. The TV was less than one month of my rip off cable. I'm just doing netflix now and broadcast HD. My time is limited so I've only binged a bit. Master of None was my first, now I'm halfway through Stranger Things 1. My List is quite large!

Oh yeah, and NO ADVERTS!

Peace

They are nice. We don't really use the smart features anymore since we moved to Fire Sticks, but they were nice. The worst thing, though, is when Netflix updates their UI. The Vizio won't automatically update the app. You will notice because Netflix will freeze up the TV as it is starting and you will have to unplug the TV to get it to do anything. I believe you have to "restore factory settings" at that point and that will force Vizio to update the app. I know I found the cure on the googles.

It seems to be impossible. we just added Acorn to our lineup, but I'll have to watch that on the Samsung.
