Some of the foreign: British, German, Australian series are the best on Netflix

Last edited Mon Jun 11, 2018, 05:14 PM - Edit history (2)

Here's some I thoroughly enjoyed.

Glitch--- Australian---Netflix--2 seasons so far---Syfy

James Hayes (Patrick Brammall) is a small town policeman in Yoorana, Victoria. He is called to the local cemetery in the middle of the night after seven people have risen from the dead in perfect health but with no memory of their identities. They are determined to discover who they are and what has happened to them. James struggles to keep the case hidden from his colleagues, his family, and the world, with the help of local doctor Elishia McKellar (Genevieve O'Reilly). The seven people are all linked in some way, and the search begins for someone who knows the truth about how and why they have returned.[7]

Dark---German---Netflix---1 season, 2nd in production---Syfy
When local children in the fictional[8] German town of Winden start disappearing, it brings to light the fractured relationships, double lives, and dark past of four families living there, revealing a mystery that spans three generations.

The series follows Jonas Kahnwald, a teenager struggling to cope with his father's suicide; police officer Ulrich Nielsen, whose brother disappeared 33 years earlier; and police chief Charlotte Doppler.

Beginning in 2019, the story soon spreads to include storylines in 1986 and 1953 via time travel, as certain characters of the show's core families slowly grow aware of the existence of a wormhole in the cave system beneath the local nuclear power plant, under the management of the influential Tiedemann family.

During the first season, the secrets of the Kahnwald, Nielsen, Doppler, and Tiedemann families begin to be revealed, and their lives start to crumble as the ties between the disappeared children and the history of the town and its citizens becomes evident.

The Fall is a British-Irish crime drama television series filmed and set in Northern Ireland. The series, starring Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, is created and written by Allan Cubitt and features Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector. It is produced by Artists Studio, and shown on RTÉ One in the Republic of Ireland and BBC Two in the UK.

The series premiered in the Republic of Ireland on RTÉ One on 12 May 2013,[1] and in the United Kingdom on BBC Two on 13 May 2013.[2] The second series began in the Republic of Ireland on 9 November and in the UK on 13 November 2014. Plot
Metropolitan Police Superintendent Stella Gibson, a senior investigating officer tasked with reviewing investigations, is seconded (i.e., temporarily assigned) to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) in order to assess the progress of a murder investigation that has remained active longer than 28 days. When it becomes apparent a serial killer is on the loose, local detectives must work with Stella to find and capture Paul Spector, who is attacking young professional women in the city of Belfast. As time passes Stella's team works tirelessly to build a case, but they are met with complications both inside and outside the PSNI. Paul, concurrently, builds a relationship with his children's babysitter, Katie, to unknown ends. As Spector's world comes crashing down, it may turn out to be his professional and not his personal decisions that cause the killer to face a fate he did not expect.
