Anyone here on Naltraxone?

Hi there,
One of my docs wants me to try Naltraxone, usually given to curb wanting to drink or opiod addiction (I do neither) but for me to counteract the food addictions I have and to counterbalance having to put me on progestin (which I need for my PCOS).

Reaction? The dose is 25mgs in the am

Thanks

There are a lot of things that don't have really good scientific validation, but seem relatively harmless. Sometimes physicians, when what they're treating doesn't have a reliable proven treatment, will work through some of these alternatives in the hope of getting the body's placebo response activated and working on the condition.

helpfully,
Bright

I'm off alcohol since 2001, but messed around with oxy and vicodin when my father got sick and passed last year. Clean 4+ months. My shrink put me on 100 mg Naltrexone when I stopped and along with my 12-step work, the cravings have been manageable.

The side effects have been negligible...for me.
