My home group is so strong, we all pull for each other and support each other in so many ways. This is how it is designed, and I will stay with this for the rest of my life.

...It felt just right. Hard to describe the kindness that I got. And it is totally real. We have been there and done that.
If you listen carefully, you will hear every sort of horror that you can think of. Jail, fights, terrible relationships, and
whatever. The meetings are a kind of "miracle. So many kind, supportive and helping people. Just so you know why
we are helpful, it is the key to the whole concept. You help the new person, and then if you recover and stay sober,
you help the next new person. Recovery in OA saved my life. I could go into it, but that is the truth. If I stayed 60
pounds overweight, I would be dead. It is that simple. I pray to my HP every day. It is mine and that is one of the
keys to the program. Pick your own Higher Power. It can be: nature, the group, or the traditional God. It can be
the "kindness and support" you just mentioned. As long as you have an HP, no one will question what it is. If it
is a "she" that is OK too. Doesn't matter, because it is up to .....YOU!...Just stay with the program..through it
all, and the group and the program will help you through it all.
