I thought I'd never say this

I miss my day program.

I miss the routine of somewhere to go,people to see.Even if it's only for a few hours twice a week.

Being here in my apartment alone day after day I lose big swathes of time.I have no clue how I spend the days. I eat when the phone alarm goes off.
Because of diabeties.

I have a really hard time deciding what to eat when my appetite is gone.

Some days I can get stuff done. Others I sit on the couch in a semi stupor.

I put off taking a shower today. I find my usual pride in my appearance and such are slacking more and more.

I feel like I am half dead sitting here in the circular echo chamber of my thoughts.

Same,day in day out.
Why am I alive again?

Anyways I hope program can begin again . I'm tired of banging my head against my mad empty wall.

Thank Sekhmet for DU. My lifeline out of here.

I too am glad that DU is here. I've relied on other people many times, when I was celebrating or grieving.

Someone is almost always here.

Play them in the background of your life. Different frequencies for different folks, but play around with them.

Its very easy to sit in the AC in front of the computer. I have to make myself go out in the heat and humidity to get things done.

There have been times in my past that I feel like my critters literally saved my life. It made me get out of bed because I knew they totally depended on me.

Do you have a pet? Can you plant a small container garden? I saw some good suggestions earlier about things you can do virtually, like starting or joining, a virtual book club, an art or music discussion group, things like that.

How about an online therapist? You're not alone in feeling like you want to melt into the upholstery.

We're here for you.

routine. Here is a nice beginning Hatha yoga class on youtube. Even if you do 5 minutes of it, it might help give you some peace.

to remind yourself that you are not alone - literally millions of people are doing exactly what you are doing, and thinking the same.

Makes me think about when I was much younger, and Saturday would roll around and I didn't have a date. Or more strikingly, New Years Eve. I always thought everyone out there was doing SOMETHING, being loved, dancing, laughing. And there I was, with a book and a bottle of champagne for the occasion. I felt somewhat discarded. And very alone.

Not sure where I was going with that.

And now, on top of the aloneness, I am old - yes, even elderly, so I contemplate my aches and pains in my isolation. The most hellish part is that I can't dance, and oh how I loved to dance. And even if you didn't much care for me, you would have liked seeing me dance. My center of gravity has changed, along with other things, and even by myself, I don't dance.

Dance, my friend, if you can. Even if it's alone. And if you can't dance, know that you are not the only one.

I used to dance but I feel inhibited. Growing up I was constantly being told to be still. I have ADHD.
Nowadays it's more like ADD now that I'm older.
Take meds for it and it really helps.

I can dance,just have a hard time moving.

As for the age issue I like older people even as a teen I would hang with the elderly folks at the mall awhile..
I am 54 an "elder " goth punk metal head.
I don't care how old I get,not giving up my mowhawk.

too bad I'm not 20 years younger and 70 pounds lighter

Keep the Mohawk for sure.

Dancing in our heads ... that works, too. Doesn't burn as many calories, though.
