Applied online for SSDI today

remembering some dates was a bit difficult. Took about an hour and a half. I am permitting them to access my medical records, but I'm also supposed to mail records into the state's social security in the state capital.

I also filled out the paperwork for my short-term disability insurance. They denied me the last time, and I had to get a lawyer, who got me money.

Just stressed due to paying a very large CC bill.

I'm so sad my life turned out like this. Thanks for listening

I know it's stressful now, but after the dust settles and you have some financial security, it will give you time to think and to heal. Take time to appreciate the beautiful days ahead, and BREATHE.

You are worth it!

I feel bad my problems got so bad that I have to apply. My ptsd-inducing employer caused this.

So, I'm kinda angry, too. I just have to muddle on.

trust me that is not the end of life. I have worked part time jobs and I have had a good life even though I have dealt with a bad mental illness and suffered a lot.

I had a great job on Wall Street coming out of college. I couldn't handle it. Over a period of about 5-6 years I worked my way down in various jobs to my last one which was putting price stickers on items in the back of a hardware store. When I couldn't handle that job I applied for SSD. (I was great at college.......I graduated Suma Cum Laude )

But it turned out OK. I'm 63 now and I believe that because of my problems I had to work hard at learning how to cope and in the process I learned how to be happy. I think that, unless I am going through an actual depression I am happier than many people I meet. I've been to all sorts of self help groups, self help workshops and finally ended up getting very involved spiritually. I think that last part has helped me the most.

I know one thing for you. We are not human doings. We are human beings. Our society teaches us that we are what we produce. I unlearned that and I'm so glad I did. I hope you can unlearn it too. There is a lot of peace to be had just hanging out and being.

I wish the very best for you. I hope you look on this as a good beginning rather than an ending because that is how I see it for you.

it means a lot to me. I do hope this is a new beginning for me. A lot of this was brought on by a violent, very toxic workplace filled with unhappy people.
