I know it's helping your state of mind, but that foot of yours needs some help before it gets bad.

You don't have a proper diagnosis yet. It may turn out to be something else. Just keep an open mind.

12. They can do brain scans for some mental illnesses
Sat Aug 25, 2012, 04:48 PM

But I doubt they will for you. I think it's more something they do after a diagnosis for research purposes. If you do get a mental illness diagnosis you can participate in such studies later if you wish. I think brain scans for diagnostic purposes are still in experimental stages.

But, basically, your diagnosis will depend on an interview or a series of interviews. I wouldn't let that deter you from getting treatment. They get it right most of the time. The treatment is what matters.

13. Sometimes I Have to Get my Body Moving to Get my Brain to Work Properly
Sat Aug 25, 2012, 05:51 PM

We were never meant to sit around for hours at a time.
Our bodies are supposed to move!

Walking is good, bicycling is good, swimming is good, dancing is the best!

17. If You Meds Mess Up Your Energy Level, Make Them Give You DIFFERENT Ones
Sun Aug 26, 2012, 05:08 AM
Aug 2012
when going on these medications is that they don't interrupt this "whatever" it is process in my brain that has made me take up walking again.

If they do, make them give you different ones.

Because I really want to go further with it, get my bike fixed, maybe get into some other forms of exercise.

Bicycling is really good. It is easier on the body than walking or running (especially the feet), and it provides more sensory input because you are moving faster.

Because it makes me feel one hell of a lot better and calmer, every time. And if I have to become addicted to something, that is a lot better choice than, say, crystal meth.

I don't consider this an addiction. I think this is how it is supposed to work.

Besides, who knows, maybe I'll get all "buffed" and women will just start throwing themselves at me.

That has been happening to me, and I'm only half buffed at best (mostly waist-down).
