I had the oddest dreams last night, like I didn't care anymore.

In the real New Year's world my wife was working, traded New Years for Christmas.

Our kids were celebrating New Years with their own friends and SO's.

I was alone with the dogs and I fell asleep into an alternate universe. Catalina Island, but not Catalina Island. Ex-girlfriends and my wife were there. With gratuitous nudity all around.

I'm certain there is no real meaning here, but I'm still feeling disturbed.

The only place where I believe dream analysis holds water is in recurrent dreams and themes that run through all your dreams.

I now that there are certain recurring themes in my dreams that hold meaning. But a single dream by itself could just be the bad calamari you had the other night

I looked up an interpretation of wrecking in a dream and got this:

"To see a wreck in your dream represents obstacles and barriers toward your goals. You feel that you are being held back or that you are not making any progress."

That is partly true. On one level I know I'm making progress toward a better future by working to get my degree. On another level I see how progress toward that goal would be much faster if I did not have to worry about my current job and I could just focus solely on my school work. I'd earn my degree twice as fast.

But my job provides both me and my wife with decent health insurance and it pays the bills. I have to have at least that or I have nothing.
