I don't know what it's called but I'm looking at using farfalle pasta with an improvised alfredo sauce with cut up sausage. I also have herb encrusted focaccia bread from the store.

If not adopt one from the local shelter.
I adopted two tabbys last November and love them. They seem to sense when you are feeling blue and need a little love.

This is the perfect time to learn something important about yourself. Have you ever tried meditating? It's really very easy. You just sit comfortably in a chair and pay attention to your breathing. If your mind wanders, and it will, bring attention back to your breathing. A lot of thoughts and feelings will arise in your mind. Don't follow them. Just let them arise and be replaced with another thought and another and another. Eventually, you will discover that thoughts and feelings are not real solid things. You can't weigh them on a scale.
A 15 minute meditation is a lot for a beginning meditator. Focusing on your breathing is supposed to help you relax and be a little better at dealing with whatever you are experiencing. Cheers and good luck.

keep coming back to your cushion and your breath. Searching outside yourself for relief will not work. Sit on your cushion and watch your breath.

I have really enJOYed many of Your posts. Do You journal? I often do, especially when having troublesome thoughts & feelings, help me sort things out. Funny, I read my writing the next day, or a week later, & I often think "why was I so upset?"! While in the midst of it, it does seem like a big deal, but the writing seems like Medicine. & doing "Self indulgent" stuff*, treating mySelf with a treat, & some physical fun activities help me, too.
*Self indulgent for me, might be watching a goofy guilty pleasure show or movie, eating TWO bowls of ice cream, or creating some art to give someone.
In the physical fun dept, I avoid the músic that reminds me of my missing loved one or other sadness, I listened to what *I* love, turn it up kinda loud, & dance my @$$ off I also often take my troubles for walks, & often lose them a long the way. Being outside is very Healing to me. I send YOU goood vibes, & Bless YOU! You aren't really alone. or, maybe we are all alone, together. Be Your own best friend & take goood Care of YourSelf. 💖 my phone is missing up, I may be off awhile, trying to figure it out, but will be sending You happy vibes,ok? O, also maybe ckout the DU loners group, there's others, too, that arehelpful, though not really active.

recovering from shoulder surgery and it is crashing into spring farm work and neither are going well at the moment.
the shoulder is doing well, just was much more major of a surgery than i was expecting and thought i would get by better. seems like every little thing is screwing up. such tiny things that are hard, if not impossible.

i so very much hate to depend on anyone. i have had some wonderful support from friends, and some surly support from kids. but the loss of my autonomy, and the way it makes me see the future, old lady that i am, just scares me.
it has been 3 years since my ex and i split, and it is starting to get on my nerves.

i know once i am healed up it will be better than the last year or 2 with this mess, but i cant help wondering what the next mess will be.

hang in there, dear. food is a thing when you are lonely. i have barely cooked all this time. i just cant bring myself to do it. thank dawg for grubhub, and the great food in the big city.
i had pizza from my fave joint tonight. makes it a little better.
that and an ice pack.
