gotta get up early for prep. Not sure if I should brown the beef first.
Bought a Campbell's brand stew sauce this time. I just couldn't get the flour right consistency-wise.

I always brown the beef first. I think it adds a ton of flavor.

I've been using those prepared sauces too-- easier, and they can be tasty. There's one Thai Curry sauce that's great on chicken.
Are you putting all the veggies in early?

(10,643 posts)I don't like the consistency. Yes, I will put them in early. We're into carrots big time, in this household.

(21,130 posts)One can whole tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion and garlic ( I blend onion and garlic in food processor before adding in) salt and pepper to taste buds. Also add small potatoes. Also add a bay leaf.
Writing this I realize I havent made stew in awhile. Might do next week.
