It's the Seattle International Film Festival. My movie buddy and I will find something cheap and cheerful near the theater. There's quite a selection in the area.

made by my 16 year old son. I've taken a job where I'll be working most evenings, so he's shouldering a lot of cooking duties. He likes baking bread (and has made some pretty good loaves), so pizza should be quite do-able for him. Tomorrow night he'll do chili.

If you have some good ideas for some fairly straightforward things a new cook could make, I'm all ears.

on sale at HEB. Making 2...the Madster and I will split one and the T-man will have his own. For sides we're having cold pasta salad with lots of chunky veg. Dessert is up in the air, probably the rest of the watermelon or the jello with grapes and whipped cream the Madster just made(if it sets).

in a white wine sauce. Sides of potatoes whipped with butter and goat yogurt, and a ravishing purple lettuce salad with tomato, cucumber, and red onion and toss with a vinaigrette. I'll make savory croutons for the salad. We have fresh strawberries and blueberries, so a bowl of those dressed with a scoop of raspberry sorbet for dessert.

We're going to a party. Supposed to be some grilling going on and it is a gorgeous day - NOT TOO HOT! YAY!

to donate books for our library's fundraiser....we haven't looked in those boxes for years. Then we burned old files of "who cares anymore" stuff . It was very cathartic.

So dinner was chick pea patties with yogurt sauce, couscous with sun-dried tomatoes, and marinated zucchini slices as a salad.

First day of the farmer's market in my town and got some great greens and spinach. So there are plenty of salads on the menu for this week.

A frozen entree. Yup, Lightlife's Bella Portabella Tuscan Chik'n:

In my defense, today I:
* gave the dog a bath
* vacuumed and shampooed all the carpet
* cleaned the bathroom, including washing and re-hanging the shower curtain
* did five loads of laundry
* weeded my in-ground flower beds
*took the last of the winter clothes to the storage unit
* did grocery shopping
* and the middle of all that I got gussied up and went to a wedding!

SO, I was b.e.a.t. and that little entree just called my name at the grocery store. That, and some Southern Tier 2xIPA.

And you know what? It was pretty darn tasty.

ETA: mr beac is out of town, so I sinned alone.
