I ordered dinner from Panera Bread because I've been so busy with garden tasks today.
Not exactly for the calorie conscious, which I normally am, but I ordered the macaroni and cheese sandwich (only a half) and a bowl of 10-vegetable soup. I took a taste and both were delicious; I noted that they put a nice crisp on the cheese of the macaroni that gave it a good crunch. The ten-veggie soup had beautiful colors and lots of herbs.
Raspberry tea to go with it.
While I was waiting on line, the manager or asst. manager came out several times to tell us things might be a little slow because of lack of help. I noticed they had signs up for help and telling what they paid, and it was a fairly decent pay level. Still, the wait was only moderately long and I didn't get annoyed.
Dessert will be watermelon later tonight.
Oh, and if you want an answer to yesterday's C & B intrigue, check PJMc's post on yesterday's thread.
Siwsan
(26,241 posts)Made with LOTS of peppers from my garden and smoked paprika. Also added some kidney beans. That just seemed interesting. It will be washed down with some Cabernet.
I'm considering making a Faygo Root Beer Float for dessert.

(38,526 posts)I started marinating the chicken at noon yesterday. The marinade was: white wine, olive oil, onions, garlic, bell pepper, rosemary, and salt & pepper.
I have butterflied the chicken and it is in the oven as I type.
The sides are: confetti-style rice pilaf (homemade), sauteed yellow squash, and sliced tomatoes. (The squash and the tomatoes are from the garden.)
I haven't even though about dessert. Probably ice cream.
