(22,340 posts)If I'm still hungry, I found some broccoli crowns hiding in the back of the fridge I may sautee with some crushed red pepper as a side, too. If not, that's on the table for tomorrow.

(50,130 posts)Was awakened at 6 a.m. by a foot cramp. Looked outside the picture window at the beautiful glorious beautiful morning light and there were two very gorgeous deer about 15 feet away. Wow! I grabbed the camera and snapped two pics, then realized that the memory card was in my computer in the other room. Bah!
That's a roundabout way of saying that I didn't get enough sleep and didn't go to the store. So it's breakfast for supper.

(24,146 posts)they're boneless, so it only takes a couple hours on high. i'm going to mix a can of pineapple in with the bbq sauce, add some apple cider vinegar and probably some brown sugar and toss in a couple handfuls of pearl onions.

(9,494 posts)It's a big production to grind the moon lentils and rice to make the batter but you can buy is freshly mixed and fermented and ready to cook. Then it's just a matter of cooking up some California Gold potatoes and Vidalia onions, season with fresh ground Garam Masala and filling the giant, crispy crepes. I served with traditional coconut chutney.
My best buy was a case of fabulous Alphonso mangoes. They are famous in India and only available two months out of the year. They are small and yellow and incredibly sweet. For desert it had to be Mango Lassi with yogurt and a splash of rosewater!

(6,581 posts)But I buy the Ataulfo mangoes from Mexico when they're in season. They are generally decent to excellent, and actually ripe. It's a travesty the way regular mangoes (Tommy Atkins type) are picked incredibly green, and then generally held and chilled. They almost never really ripen for me, just sort of sit there until they brown out around the pit, and have little flavor.

(9,494 posts)It is the first time in 18 years that they are being imported from India. They taste like mango candy! I understand they can be ordered by the case to be delivered right to your door.
