sliced/chopped zucchini, chopped onion. (garlic optional) brown meat and add vegs. add a can of chopped tomatoes. season with salt, pepper, cumin. serve over rice (or with warm corn tortillas - or both if into carbs) can top with queso fresca or any cheese you like and LOTS of fresh cilantro. canned salsa is good too (el pato is what we use)

super fast, fairly healthy, and majorly delicious

If pasta and ground meat w/tomato sauce(s), we call it Johnny Marzetti, usually elbow macaroni.

If rice or grain (quinoa or couscous) and ground meat w/beef gravy - we call it "Dog Food." Skipped the gravy in favor of left over Beef/Mushroom and barley soup with onion the other day for instance and used Penne. Left over veggies - dump 'em in, LOL. Simmered open until absorbed. Still hot and hearty though a bit more chewy and likely better second day!

Like Mediterranean? Add zukes, olives, zests of citrus. Like TexMex - taco spice, cilantro, beans mixed in and topped with Cheddar Jack, picante, sour cream, and guac with a side of crunchy tortilla chips - oh yeah!

One can throw any chosen veggies in with either: garlic, onions, olives, mushrooms, green or colored sweet peppers, sweet potato, white potato, carrots, other root veggies too like squashes and flavor with spices per one's favorites, LOL. Beets (Bloody Dog Food) - Voila...

I'm even considering a ground chicken version with canned Alfredo/parmesan sauce over spaghetti and a side romaine and pea salad, LOL!

Perhaps even a BBQ sauced ground pork or a Greek lamb version (rosemary?) topped with raw cukes and tzatziki

Vegan meats or substitutes like tofu, if you prefer as well.

Made Picadello yesterday. Used ground turkey instead of beef and added chorizo.

like something we'd really like. I can't use raisins, though, because of a diabetic in the family. I'll have to think of a substitute.

All depends on what I’m in the mood for and what’s in the fridge.

I used ground beef, I used pretty lean meat. You can add any veg you like or none. Brown the ground meat, add flour, and let it brown lightly ( I have to use gluten-free) and then milk and beef bouillon. I use garlic, thyme, and any other seasoning that I feel like. Sometimes I use onions but not usually as the dogs like this and onions are deadly poison for dogs. Let it simmer for at least 20 minutes...you can basically add anything you like in this recipe. I usually just use meat and seasonings. I serve it over rice with veg and mushrooms on the side. It is also good over mashed potatoes. Very simple, but it has a nice rich taste.
