Seeking morel recipes
We came across a bunch of morels and don't know what to do with them beyond substituting for typical mushrooms. So, DUers to the rescue? Thanks.

1. Just sautee them in butter. They're so good by themselves
that it doesn't do them justice to put them in something like an omelet.

2. That's just what I was going to say.
Morels are glorious.

3. Morels on toast
really lets them shine and that's kind of the point with something so seasonal, unless you've got a backyard full of them and are looking for a little novelty.
Basically, it's stemmed and sliced morels, butter, salt and pepper, something mildly oniony like leek or chives or shallot, saute together and serve on toast. Someytimes, it's the simplest stuff that is the best. |

4. Same here!
Morels are so rare and expensive that simpler cooking is best - unless you really have a huge surplus, in which case you can dry them and send them to me!

5. Morels this early! Wow, we're at least a few weeks out before we find them.
My wife slices them in half and soaks them in salt water to get rid of bugs. She flours them up like frying a chicken and fry hem in a skillet.
