Related: About this forumI baked a batch of cookies for the grand opening
Last month, I started a booth in the lower level of a vintage mall. They opened the upper level last spring and had a grand opening for that. They are having a grand opening for the lower level this Saturday. The owners asked vendors to make cookies, contribute small bottle of water and door prizes. I dropped off a door prize yesterday. I made the cookies this morning. Pumpkin pie spice snickerdoodles. I have a recipe for classic snickerdoodles that I've used for years. They are okay with the pumpkin spice, not much different in flavor. I'll drop them off this afternoon.
Now I'm in the mood to bake

(102,225 posts)So many that I baked with her years ago, that despite seeing so many newer delicious recipes, nostalgia kicks in and I always make something from this 1963 classic (excellent traditional snickerdoodles, btw, too)
The pumpkin variety does sound good, though.

(111,243 posts)but I'm starting to crave soup. Soup season starts the first of October, baking in mid to late October.
I've got a tiny, 6 ft x 8 ft galley kitchen, but it does sport one decent work surface, more than I had at my house.

(16,935 posts)and I get a lot of work done in a small countertop area beside the stove. I'm glad I got the glass top range last time, really helps when I'm doing a project.
I'm thinking about chili, but it was 80 here today, so I'll wait
